Groceries were ordered, and so were kitty things. A Prospect named Iggy had picked them up and dropped them at the house for us. What I hadn’t expected was the ring he’d delivered too. How Cyclops had bought it without me knowing was a mystery. Other than trips to the bathroom, we’d been joined at the hip since Church had let out.

I stared at the white gold band, with a rose gold design overlaid. To say it was stunning was an understatement. I’d never seen anything so beautiful. And he’d listened when I said I only wanted a band. Shield had worked his magic quickly, and we’d been married within an hour of getting home from our picnic. To some, it might seem unromantic. Having grown up with the Dixie Reapers, I knew the ceremony didn’t matter. It was the life we’d build together that meant something. Everything else was window dressing.

Cyclops had put the kitty condo together already, and we’d found the perfect spot for it in the living room. The litter box went near the back door on a rubber mat. The cabinets and fridge were full to bursting, and I couldn’t think of a single thing we’d need in the next few days. Which meant we’d be able to focus on each other. I couldn’t wait!

I eyed Cyclops as he came back into the room after his phone call with Beast. “Well?”

“Call your brother. Beast said he’s welcome to come visit, and even to stay if that’s what he wants.”

I let out a little whoop and quickly pulled up Logan’s number on my phone. He answered immediately, which made me feel bad. He only did that if he’d been worrying about me.

“Finally! You ready to tell me the truth?” he asked.

“We can discuss it in person in three days.”

“What the hell is in three days? You coming home then?”

I chewed my bottom lip. It seemed Dad hadn’t called home, or if he had, he’d only told Mom that Cyclops had claimed me. My siblings didn’t know I wasn’t coming home. That wouldn’t be a fun conversation.

“I’m already home. My new home.”

The line was quiet for so long I looked at the screen to see if the call had dropped. “What the fuck is going on, Leigha?”

“So, I came to visit Lyssa at the Reckless Kings. I wanted a chance to go on some dates and live a little without everyone watching my every move.”

“And what? You’re just moving in with her? I doubt Beast is happy about it.”

“Um, no. Actually…” I looked at Cyclops. He came closer and wrapped an arm around my waist, giving me his support. “I’m married.”

I heard Logan spew a drink, and he started coughing. “Excuse me?”

“Married. I got married, and I’m staying here. Permanently.”

“Who am I killing?”

I rolled my eyes. “Don’t be dramatic, Logan. I’m married to Cyclops, and you aren’t going to do anything. For one, he has Dad’s blessing. And secondly… I’m happy. Thrilled. Don’t ruin this for me, Logan. Please.
